I once heard a joke that went something like this: At the sunday church service,…
It Didn’t Have to End this Way
Last week I got a call of a long-standing elderly client; his adult son was having iPhone issues.
I spoke to the son and learned that in addition to being locked out of his phone, he’d also received some very poor advice from a local shop. It get’s even worse (bad things come in three’s right?) … the phone had never been setup correctly.
The result? Around 2500 photos taken over the past 9 years gone forever.
It didn’t have to end this way.
If you own an iPhone then PLEASE:
- Make sure that you know your Apple ID & password. Write it in a 50c notebook and stick it somewhere safe.
- Make sure that you print out your recovery code. Stick it in the same notebook.
- Make sure that your phone is set to backup to Apple. Make sure that you have enough iCloud storage space; if you don’t then buy some more … it’s ridiculously cheap.
- Make sure that your photos are set to use the Apple Photo Library; trust me, Apple are far less likely to lose the master copy than you are.
Please; don’t choose to be a victim of data loss. Give me a call if you need help keeping your data safe.
